years with most eclipses
The maximum number of eclipses - lunar plus solar - possible in any calendar year is seven. The last year in which seven eclipses took place was 1917 and the next such occurrence will be in 2094.
In 1917, between 8th January and 14th December there were three umbral eclipses of the Moon and four partial eclipses of the Sun, though one of those solar eclipses was very slight. In 2094, there will be a penumbral eclipse of the Moon on 1st January, umbral lunar eclipses on 28th June and 21st December, partial solar eclipses on 13th June, 12th July and 7th December, and a total solar eclipse on 16th January.
